Digital Asset Research Analyst

Vibrant storytellers and Chainalysis evangelists, our marketing team produces cutting-edge research to tell the story of what is happening on-chain. We're the connectors and facilitators for key-players in the cryptocurrency industry. The Digital Asset Research Analyst plays an active role in this wider work.

Digital Asset Research Analysts are really good at turning raw data into interesting, actionable insights. As a Digital Asset Research Analyst, you'll be working closely with the Head of Research and other teams at Chainalysis to provide meaningful and timely insights and field data requests.

Responsibilities

• Be excited about Data! The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for data, leveraging this passion to drive in-depth analysis of digital asset trends, market movements, and on-chain activities.
• Use keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Utilize proficiency in Python or R and SQL to extract, clean, analyze, and visualize vast datasets related to digital assets.
• Demonstrate understanding of relational databases to efficiently query, manage, and integrate diverse data sources.
• Champion data quality and analytical rigor throughout research work.
• Communicate complex digital asset research effectively to diverse audiences, including media, industry, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Python or R coding for statistical data and/or data science
• Strong experience with SQL for querying large data sets
• Experience supporting teams across the company by querying data and contextualizing results
• Ability to develop new fundamental insights into cryptocurrency and smart contract data
• Skill in becoming a master of rich datasets
• Experience investigating and designing innovative metrics for accountability and transparency
• Ability to balance ad-hoc requests with ongoing projects

Nice to Have

• Curiosity about cryptocurrencies and a desire to learn about emerging trends, novel protocols, and regulatory developments
